Treo Problems

I love my Treo 700w! But for the last week I’ve been having some crazy problems with it. About 1/3 of the calls I make/take the person on the other end can’t hear me! It’s quite embarassing and very very annoying. Last week I was at a breakfast sitting by Ryan Money who has the same phone and was asking him if he’d had a problem with his, he hadn’t. To test it out, I called his Treo while I was sitting next to him - he couldn’t hear me. So, it wasn’t the Verizon service, must be my phone. I have been too busy to go to the Verizon store to get it checked out until yesterday. And OF COURSE my phone worked just fine while I was in the store! Fortunately Tyson, the salesman at the store, believed me and ordered me up a replacement phone. It should be here today or Monday. They think the mic on my phone isn’t kicking in the way it’s supposed to.

Then, about 10 minutes after I left the store, the next 5 calls I made couldn’t hear me! My Treo is as bad as my car when it comes to performance anxiety!

  1. “Can you hear me now?”

  2. Did you ever get this fixed with the new phone? I am going on phone #3 with this problem and still not resolved. Any ideas? Luckily the problem happened to Verizon support when tested.

    Thanks,

  3. I’m having the same problem PLUS multiple programs opening layered on my screen while I’m on a call. Is anyone esle having that one?

  4. Fast forward 2 years. I am having the identical problem. My phone is about 2, maybe 3 years old - perhaps the maximum life of this phone? Though I’ve had quirky little problems here and there, this is, by far, the biggest. most disruptive, and annoying problem to date. I noticed that not only can I not hear others, nor they not hear me, but the speaker phone option does not appear on the screen when I get a call. Also, the phone doesn’t make a sound when I turn it on and off. Something definitely related to the mic.?
It’s been a few years since someone posted here, I hope someone reads this and lets me know how I might solve this BIG problem. THANKS, P.Tom

  5. You were probably hitting the mute button with your cheek. Set the phone so the screen is locked while you are on a call and I bet the problem goes away.

  6. I am so glad to hear others have this problem. I have twice gone to the Verizon store and told them about this, but it works for them and they don’t appear to believe me. In my case it is only that others cannot hear me. I know how to “un mute” it, and this is not the problem, but it mimics being stuck on mute. I wish the Verizon stores knew the Treo better, but half the time their tech support people in the store do not know this phone.
