The road to A Launch

For the last 5 days the Jungle team has been working non-stop (literally) out of my basement to get TagJungle ready to Launch our private beta. Yeah, we’re late. But, we have completely re-designed our site and the new presentation is awesome! (if i don’t say so myself). After days of not sleeping (or occasionally catching an hour or so nap on the LoveSac) the site is nearly feature complete for launch! We still have several bugs to work out, but they’re the little things that we’ve been ignoring while we’re building new features. In the next day or so (actually on Tuesday I think) we’ll be launching the private beta. So, if you’re on our beta sign-up list at www.tagjungle.com – expect to get an email from us on Tuesday with instructions on how to access the site.

I’m writing this from the Airport in Long Beach (BIG KUDOS to the Long Beach Airport – they have free open wireless here!) where I have an hour layover on my flight to San Francisco (I keep forgetting to book flights soon enough in advance to get non-stop tickets). Over the next few days I’m going to be meeting with a lot of old friends that I haven’t seen for a while and introducing them to The Jungle. All culminating in being an exhibiting company at Launch: Silicon Valley on Wednesday. I’m booked to be on the Scoble Lunch Show on Thursday and then heading back to Mapleton for a nice, refreshing, long awaited day off. Then on Monday it’s back to work!

I’m planning on blogging pretty regularly over the next couple days, tracking the Jungle activities – stay tuned!

[...] Great question, Jason. The answer, quite simply, is this; we are passionate about giving job seekers more of what they want and less of what they don’t want. Searching for the ‘perfect’ job online using job boards and job search engines is like trying to find a parking space in New York City – nearly impossible. The volume of information on the Internet is growing exponentially. Users (job seekers) of the Just-Posted.com job search engine have complete control over their online job search experience; immediate access to the ‘most’ relevant job opportunities available from among millions of jobs on thousands of Web properties. (jason: I think this is what the Job Relevance box is for – so somehow they are rating the relevency of the results based on what you put in, this is how they are giving you control – correct me if I’m wrong. Looks similiar to the the new TagJungle stuff, which is supposed to give Technorati a run for its money – but in the end, should make “the experience” better for the user.) [...]
