Astronomers have, for the first time, found an Earth-like planet that is within the ‘habitable zone’ or is capable of sustaining human-like life based on its orbit location around its primary star. While they have yet to determine its makeup, they have determined that it is likely either a rocky planet (like Earth) or a water-world – so if there is life there, they could be either humanoids or Mon Calamari’s like Admiral Ackbar. The planet, called Gliese 581 C is named after the star it orbits, an M class Red Dwarf called Gliese 581, is only 20.5 light-years away – so if you were in the Millenium Falcon you could get there between scenes.
